Delay between documents sent to printer

I get a 30 second delay between print jobs on certain network printers (both are JetDirect enabled HP 4000TN Laser printers).  The message is:

"Network host laser1 is busy, down, or unreachable; will retry in 30 seconds..."

So, it takes about 1 minute to print out a 1-page document.

Is there somewhere this delay can be changed?  Or is there some other way to get rid of this delay?  The printers seem to be setup correctly, and there are other printers (two other JetDirect enabled HP 4050TN printers) that do not do this between print jobs.
