[LOW] STR #2643: PDF is printed incorrectly with'number-up' and'page-ranges'

The problem is that when I print test.pdf (7 pages) on cups 1.2 or later with command:
> lpr -o number-up=2 -o page-ranges=1,3 test.pdf
I get:
  ********  ********
  *1     *  *blank *
  *      *  *      *
  ********  ********
  *blank *  *blank *
  *      *  *      *
  ********  ********

But as I understand I should get (first n-up, then page-ranges):
  ********  ********
  *1     *  *5     *
  *      *  *      *
  ********  ********
  *2     *  *6     *
  *      *  *      *
  ********  ********

As I said since http://cups.org/str.php?L273 is resolved pdftops replace pages with blank one according to page-ranges but with no respect to number-up option so pdftops|pstops output becomes broken.
