I'm trying to print a file from my Linux box to a remote printer, one residing on a Windows machine. That remote printer is shared and I can send PostScript (for example) to that printer from Solaris, but not Linux.

Command from Linux:

lpr -P caesar:HP8500PS tiger.ps
lpr: error - unable to print file: client-error-not-found

The same command from Solaris prints an image.

Likewise, from Solaris, I can enter:

 /usr/ucb/lpq -P caesar:HP8500PS

                         Windows 2000 LPD Server
                              Printer \\192.196.128.24\HP8500PS

Owner Status Jobname Job-Id Size Pages Priority
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

>From Linux:

lpq -P caesar:HP8500PS
lpq: Unknown destination "caesar:HP8500PS"!

What do I have to do on Linux that isn't required on Solaris?

Thank you!
