jobs automatically cancelled, esp ghostscript install

Please include the lines from the error_log that mention auto-typing as:
     D [08/Jan/2007:09:49:57 +0200] print_job: auto-typing file...
     D [08/Jan/2007:09:49:57 +0200] print_job: request file type is text/plain.

As I see it it could be either of:
   1. Your printer queue is set up such that it does not accept PDFs.
   2. CUPS misidentifies your print job type.
   3. Your /etc/cups/mime.types, mime.convs has no entry for PDFs.
