It's a bug in the Minolta USB hardware; basically, any "data ready"
status check will trigger a return of the 1284 device ID data from
these printers, so we specifically have to disable bidi on Minolta
printers. The test in 1.2.7 was broken and has been fixed for the
upcoming 1.2.8 release.
