Build machine is a "SunOS 5.10 Generic sun4u sparc".

Rebuilt ESP gs with the Sun Studio compiler. With this build of 'gs' it no
longer crashes as it did with 'gs' built with gcc.

FYI, the gcc version that was used previously was "gcc (GCC) 3.4.3".

So from my point of view the problem is resolved.
