Configuring parallel printer on CUPS 1.2.x on FreeBSD 6 CURRENT

Hello there,

I'm having a bad time to configure my parallel printer HP DeskJet 640C, with CUPS 1.2.2, on FreeBSD 6 CURRENT.

By the web interface (look, the server is running), it cannot find the 'Parallel Port' device, as would be supposed to. It only finds 'AppSocket/HP JetDirect', 'http', 'ipp' and 'lpd/lpr host or printer'. I restarted the system with the printer turned on, and nothing either.

By command line, with the command:

lpadmin -p DeskJet -E -v parallel://dev/lpt0 -m deskjet.ppd

and

lpadmin -p DeskJet -E -v parallel://dev/lpt0 -m deskjet2.ppd

It adds the parallel port printer, but I cannot print the "test page" trough the web admin interface, or any command line tools, I got the following error message:

Unsupported format 'application/postscript'! (for the test page)

And *similar* messages for any other file format.

I'm totally lost about this. CUPS is supposed to be easy, but it seems not to be. I'm hoping that the easinnes will come from the forums here.

Thanks in advance.

PS: Should I post the contents of files like /usr/local/etc/cups/[cupsd.conf|mime.convs|mime.types]? In time, all lines of them are uncommented...
