I assume so, since the up2date package is meant to update these sort of things.  May be not, I will have to investigate further now that I have atleast some direction on what to try out.

No, I am not saying that.  I was working fine, then at some point didn't.  Can't ID where it was, as there was a significant length of time there when I did not printing.

What I am saying is that I did not install CUPS separately myself.  All the installation etc has been done via the fresh, original installation of RHEL, then the subsequent updates provided by the up2date package.

I don't have RH support available to me as I am in an educational institution (university) and purchased it at the education rate.

For the moment, I am going to see what CUPS should be installed (what is available on the RHEL 4 channel), then if I can force an update of it if required, then see how that goes.
