Hi All
I am trying to migrate from and old red hat(7.2) dist which used lprng, to one that now uses cups (redhat as4), using lpd. My problem is, for some reason cups seems to be rendering the output differently, I can't seem to get cups to print text output in the same way lprng did, the fonts appear different, and print aligning is also different.
My printers are Lexmark lasers in general (which are postscript enabled).
CUPS settings
Printer: postscript
Prerender Postscript disabled
Convert Text to Postscript disabled
I am trying to print output in landscape, lines per inch 8, char per inch 17
lpoptions -p lce25559 -o lpi=8 -o cpi=17 -o landscape=true
LPRNG settings
##LPRNGTOOL## QUEUE filtertype=IFHP ifhp_options=status@,sync@,pagecount@,waitend@ printerdb_entry=default

:cm=Lexmark Lab Printer
:filter=/usr/libexec/filters/ifhp
:ifhp=model=default,status@,sync@,pagecount@,waitend@
:lp=%P at lce25559
:lprngtooloptions=FILTERTYPE="IFHP" IFHP_OPTIONS="status@,sync@,pagecount@,waitend@" PRINTERDB_ENTRY="default"
:mx=0
:prefix_z=landscape,lpi=8,pitch=17
:sd=/var/spool/lpd/%P
:sh
Any ideas
John.
