I'm sorry for jumping into this but I've been looking at this topic and I'm wondering if any of this might apply to my problem with printing from my browsers and the fact that OpenOffice does not seem to be affected by it. Anyway, to make things short, all images are printing way too dark in all my browsers (nearly black and they do NOT respond to any gamma changes made in CUPS) but Open Office prints things fine. I'm very glad that OO.o is ignoring whatever the problems is. I depend on the ability to print things from the web for such things as school projects for my kids.
