Latest CUPS killed all my OS X printers

Sorry if this is not the right forum...

Installed the latest CUPS on Mac OS X 10.4.9, and not only did this
delete all my printers, but any attempts of adding a new printer does
not work.

Tried so far, unsuccessfully:
o Reset printing system
o Repaired permissions (lots of permissions in CUPS directories "fixed")
o Run the shareware Printer Repair (or similar name).

The next thing I am going to try is to restart the machine. 

This is kind of disappointing as the previous versions of CUPS never
gave me any trouble.

Am I the only one with problems?
