command to view job state

You mean like this?

cupsclient# lpstat -p abricoh -o
printer abricoh disabled since Tue May 22 17:08:48 2007 -
        Paused
abricoh-88              root              1024   Tue May 22 17:09:24 2007
abricoh-89              root              1024   Tue May 22 17:09:31 2007

That shows the printer queue is currently disabled and there are
two jobs queued for it.
