cups on laptop + cups on server

Dear all, as I got no answer I try again.

I have cups running on my laptop with suse 10.2. I want to print on a linux
cups server. I know that I can edit .cupsrc with ServerName =
IP-of-cups-server and print directly on the server. But...

is there a way for forcing cups on the laptop to avoid running foomatic and
sending to the actual print server just postscript instead of binary data
so that the server can count the pages I print?
