Jobs web page job state

Someone here asks if the Jobs web page job state ever shows "Printing" instead of "Processing" - does CUPS show state "Processing" before the printer in question is contacted? Am I right that "Processing" is shown right until a job has cleared the printer? Finally, does CUPS start another job "Processing" before the previous job has been fully printed?

The user here would find it more clear if the state were to be "Printing" (only) when the printer was actually producing printed paper for his job.
