I just installed cups for X86 Solaris 10 from Solaris 10 Companion DVD package (SFCcups.pkg) and made a printer queue for HPLJ 4100.

When making the queue as a raw device I can print the test page via the web administration pages or from shell with lp -d queue file.ps command, but after trying to print from a windows machine via samba I got the following error to the error_log (the windows client has a hplj4100 PS driver installed locally for that queue).

I also tried making the CUPS queue as type HP LaserJet but when even the test page from web administration pages fails to print:

E [02/Oct/2007:12:02:39 -0200] Unable to convert file 0 to printable format for job 7!
I [02/Oct/2007:12:02:39 -0200] Hint: Do you have ESP Ghostscript installed?

I have an ESP package installed but somehow I think the cups packages doesn't seem to know about that. I tried to google about these issues and found many references to same kind of the problems but couldn't find anything which helped me so solve this.

Is this about cups not to be able to make a ps conversion for the data or something else that fails?

Hope someone here knows what to do to get this to work,

/K
