Problem with connection ?

Hi list,

We have a very strange phenomana, where the network seems OK, but after a move of printers they refuse to work. We have a Sharp ARM236 and an Laserjet 2100 which used to work OK. After the move (change of the IP adress) when I try to print a testpage, the CUPS interface (http://localhost:631) gives the same message for the 2 printers following message.

  "LJ2100(FinAdm) "Connected to 10.10.15.4..."
  "ARM263(Antilopstr) "Connected to 10.10.15.6..."

and stays in this state. The Sharp prints "printing data inaccurate", and nothing happens further.

We have a WAN (MPLS network). The locations/printers are reachable and pingable, the websites of the printers can be connected to. So it seems there is no network issue.

Errors from the errorlog can be:
CUPS-Get-Default client-error-not-found: No default printer. But this should not be a problem....

Furthermore, I get the following error:

This suggests to me that it tries to get authentication data, fails to do so, but requests for cupsdProcessIPRequest and gets the data anyway. So this should not be a problem either. (So what is wrong....)

After a while this message is displayed on the CUPS interface:

  LJ2100(Randstad) "Network host '192.168.1.103' is busy; will retry in 30 seconds..."

and it stays that way....

Could it perhaps be that a Windows process "grabs" the printer, and Cups simply cannot get a hold of the printer anymore?
