Communication with remote printer

I have a small network sharing a printer through a stand-alone print 
server. All machines use cups to manage printing via IPP, and they all 
work well except one machine never manages to clear the print queue after 
completing a job. Could this be a network related problem given that the 
other machines have no problem? A blocked port from a firewall perhaps?
