Does Cups 1.2.6 support "PDF 1.4 (?)"

Hello,

Our new Oracle system is generating PDF reports with headers that start out as follows:

Our CUPS 1.2.6 on Solaris 10 environment can't seem to interpret these, it just prints raw printer code, no matter what PPD file I use. I also can't print these in our Legacy environ which is CUPS 1.2.6 w/Foomatic on HPUX with an even wider variety of foo PPD's.

The system CAN print PDF's with this header:

Do I need a later version of cups, better PPD's, what?
