"Test Page "printing

Hi,
When i click "Print Test page",cups is calling the print_device() in backend.In that function there is one argument, file descriptor print_fd.From where this value is loading in to that function.?

I am not using any filter (i commented the *cupsFilter entry in PPD file).In the custom usb backend (using libusb)itself trying to include the printer commands.I am always getting "Unable to write 8192 bytes to printer" this error?
