[cups.general] increasing the number of history files kept in spool

Hello All,
Is there a way to increase the number of spool/print history files (eg. c00052)?
I am using CUPS-1.3.5 and in the web interface I am trying to get a record of a certain document being printed (the printer job ID will not help...the file name is unique) but the history stops at 500 completed print jobs.
Is there any way to increase this number and what is the upper limit ?
