HowDoI create RAW printer w/lpadmin

Greetings,

Using lpadmin, is there a way to create or modify a printer to RAW?
I was hoping that a command such as:

lpadmin -p SVC_cha  -v socket://SVC_cha:9100  -L "Charlotte,NC"    -D "HP LJ 5"

would force it to raw, but it appears that if there is a PPD file by the name of the printer already in /etc/cups/ppd (in this case SVC_cha.ppd) CUPS picks writes it into the configuration.
I know I can fix this in the GUI, but I have 600 printers to do.
