This exists and on most modern Linux distributions this is already
installed. If on your OS such a facility is not available, look for
system-config-printer and hal-cups-utils:

hal-cups-utils is part which does the automatic setup, it uses functions
of system-config-printer, so both are needed. In addition you need HAL,
GTK, and Python on your system.
