When I set up the printer as an IPP (ipp://192.168.1.100:631/printers/HPDesJet9800) and try to access it, I get the message: INACCESSIBLE: the print share is not accessible.

As I am a newbie, I am not certain how to approach this error message and what to do next. I appreciate any information more knowledgeable people can give me. Thank you all in advance.

Ekkard,
Thank you. I placed Allow From 192.168.1.* in the /etc/cups/cupsd.conf on 192.168.1.100 and restarted cups. This did not help.

running:
CUPS_DEBUG_LEVEL=2 /usr/lib/cups/backend/snmp 2>&1 | tee snmp.log

shows:

DEBUG: Scanning for devices in "public" via "@LOCAL"...
DEBUG: 0.000 Sending 46 bytes to 192.168.1.255...
DEBUG: SEQUENCE 44 bytes

DEBUG: 1.000 Scan complete!

and snmpwalk shows:
Timeout: No Response from 192.169.1.100

I do have a firewall set on both computers, but it is set to let through CUPS and even when I set the server with the printer to no firewall, I cannot locate the printer.

Thanks
