How to disable Kerberos / reset CUPS on OS X?

You need to click the lock on the "Print & Fax" dialogue under "System Preferences" to permit changes (and authenticate as an administrator), then right-click on the (printer list) panel at left and choose "Reset printing system" from the (one-item!) menu that appears.

Incidentally, you'll also have to do this if you press the "Use Default Configuration File" button on the web page "http://localhost:631/admin?op=config-server"; it is apparently the default CUPS (cupsd.conf) configuration file, not the default Apple one.
