[cups.general] I need to insert a filter into a normal printstream.

Ok, from the looks of it then... For each queue that you have you need
to have a [PrinterName] header followed by the filter, prehook and
posthook directives?

Ex.

[PrinterName]
prehook_0 : /usr/bin/do_stuff
posthook_0 : /usr/bin/do_stuff_later

The link above is certainely a good start. 

Then you'll probably have something like 10 minutes of work to adapt
it to your needs.
