Only Suse 10.2 has problems with usb-parallelport adapter, see postings 
in german open suse mailinglist, today, thread "10.2: Probleme mit 
USB-Parallelportadapter (CUPS)?". Suse 10.3 works find. How can there be 
support for the adapter when usb-character backends are no longer supportet?

BTW: a primitiv backend
    #!/bin/sh
    cat - > /dev/usb/lp0
may be a solution, okay.
