I have a centralized linux (gentoo) CUPS server (recently upgraded
to 1.3.7) at my institution that acts as both a pure cups browsing
server and samba server. Our OSX clients (10.5.4) reach the server
by cups browsing (not using Samba).

I'm seeing significant problems when OSX clients attempt to print
pretty much anything in landscape mode iff it's going through
Preview. However, those same print jobs, saved to PDF and then
opened with Acrobat 8, print fine. Likewise, directly printing on
the command line with lpr somefile.pdf also produces the expected
output. I don't know if this is similar to STR #2850 and STR #2881,
but it might be.

I've been able to reproduce this problem on a number of printers
(different PPDs, example ppd included is an HP 4250 PS). I've
created a tarball of 4 different printout data files of the same PDF
(landscape.pdf), here are the job details:

4557 * Ubuntu Linux 8.04 client using Evince to Linux cups 1.3.7
4559 - OS X 10.5.4 preview to Linux cups 1.3.7
4562 * OS X 10.5.4 lpr to Linux cups 1.3.7
4567 * OS X 10.5.4 Acrobat Pro 8 to Linux cups 1.3.7

Those marked with a '*' printed "correctly", albeit with different
margins and some differences in font-size/kerning. The one that
didn't print correctly, printed as described in example 2 in STR
#2881, e.g.

  +----+ +------+
  |ABCD| |ABCDEF|
  |ABCD| When it should be |ABCDEF|
  | | +------+
  +----+
