can cups query a remote lpd queue

Hi again,

OK I will answer myself ;) doesn't seem so, it doesn't even try as long 
as it talks to a remote lpd queue which also means printer with an 
internal disk like plotters will do the complete queuing of dozens of 
jobs without the user eaven being aware of the queue, is that intended ?
