[cups.general] USB not listing under CUPS

How I configured my usb printers:
On the machine the printer is attached to throw a (as root!)

lpinfo -v

which will give you a list of "device-uri"s. Spot the line starting with "usb" and looking similar to 

direct usb://Dell/Laser%20Printer%201720dn

now, assuming you want to call your printer 'bisheng', do (as root!)

lpadmin -p bisheng -v usb://Dell/Laser%20Printer%201720dn -P $PATHTOPPD

replace $PATHTOPPD with the actual path to the printers ppd (usually starting with /usr/share/ppd/ , Im pretty sure you'll find your printers there), works lika charm.
