default username for smb:// print jobs?

Hi,

I'm running CUPS 1.2.7-4etch2 and Samba 3.0.24-6etch9 on a Debian Etch machine.

I want to make my and especially my clients' lifes easier and would like to be able to add smb:// printers to CUPS but without the need of adding "USER:PASS@" to the URI and especially without creating a new user on the Windows machine the printer is connected to just for printing.

The idea I had was to add a user to the Domain Admins group (rid=512) which has the right to connect to the client from remote and use this user for printing. The problem here is still that I'd have to specify that user in the smb:// URI.

My first question now is: Which user/password combination is CUPS using by default to access a Windows printserver when no username/password is specified in the smb:// URI?

The second question is; If there is no such user/password combination by default, can I somehow set one in some config file?

Thanks in advance,
