Does MAC OS X 10.3 support CUPS 1.2

We are currently working on a Printer Driver, and all stuff are under CUPS 1.2, with load of errors you don't even wanna look at in CUPS 1.1. Unfortunately, it needs to be done in MAC OS X 10.3, here comes the question.

Does MAC OS X 10.3 support CUPS 1.2 ? By default, CUPS 1.1 is with 10.3, it would be great to upgrade to 1.2 on Mac 10.3, OR ...too much for us to debug...
