[cups.general] Windows driver question

I have succesfully installed my printers under CUPS and created the windows drivers with CUPS Windows driver 6.0 and the cupsaddsmb command. For some reason when I install the printer from the network under Windows XP the default resolution setting for the printer is 600x600 DPI and the default page size is Letter. I found that the PPD file for the printer in the printer driver share on the samba server has the following lines in it:

*OpenUI *Resolution/Resolution: PickOne
*OrderDependency: 20 AnySetup *Resolution
*DefaultResolution: 300dpi
*Resolution 150dpi/150x150 DPI: "<</HWResolution[150 150]/cupsCompression 1>>set
*Resolution 300dpi/300x300 DPI: "<</HWResolution[300 300]/cupsCompression 2>>set
*Resolution 600dpi/600x600 DPI: "<</HWResolution[600 600]/cupsCompression 3>>set
*CloseUI: *Resolution

So I think the default resolution should be 300dpi. But it's 600x600 DPI.
I tried to set the default start banner in the PPD file, reinstalled the network printer under XP and it read the settings and set the selected banner as start banner. So it reads the PPD file but for some reason can not understand the DefaultResolution and DefaultPageSize lines.

Can anyone help?

(I have Debian 4.0, CUPS 1.2.7 and Samba 3.0.24)
