[cups.general] Text file refuse to print fully

Hallo cups,

I've noticed that some ascii text files with accented characters
[like â, ù, ö, é...] in them fail to print to the end. They are
always broken off at the accented character.
Is there anything I can do about that?
My system is based on SlackWare 12.1, with GPL GhostScript 8.62
and Cups 1.3.8.
