CUPS on ubuntu 8.04 without gnome

I has installed cups packages on my ubuntu 8.04 Server.
This server hasn't interface graphics.

I don't print on a network printer. The configuration item for printer came from a Desktop 8.04 ubuntu with gnome.
On server bash j have copied via tar the directory /etc/cups.

But J don't print!
The only messages is ( from /var/log/cups/access.log )

localhost - - [date &time] "POST / HTTP1.1" 200 417 CUPS-Get-Classes successful-ok
localhost - - [date &time] "POST / HTTP1.1" 200 XXX Get-Jobs successful-ok

instead on graphic destop J have only this message

localhost - - [data e ora] "POST / HTTP1.1" 200 179 Get-Jobs successful-ok

The computers & network printer are on same lan.

Otherwise.
Is there a howto for installing CUPS without graphics ?
Can J copy cfg file for a queue from a system normally funcionanting ?
