Cups/printers.conf cannot be edited. Itre-writesitself. Need help!

Michael,
All computers are Ubuntu 9.04 Linux. Oddly, when the PC with the printer is running XP, everything works perfectly! You seemed to unaware of this so you might find these to be a good read;

As I posted on one I got an interesting reply that I share with you.
"To answer George Ross' question (asked on bug #305030), no there is no news on this bug.
It would be written here if it were any.
You should expect this bug to be fixed in next version, Karmic Koala (Ubuntu 9.10)."
