CUPS won't print test page after setup.

Hello, I am running the Sidux version of Debian Linux on a Presario 6000 series machine.

I have a Canon ip1800 printer connected by USB cable.

Starting with http://localhost:631/ I went through the CUPS setup seemingly without problems, accepted the default driver choice and, selected the printer as my default printer.

When I press "Print a Test Page" the print job comes up, says "Processing" for about 30 sec and then says "Job Completed". The problem is that nothing happens. The printer dosen't even make a sound.

I looked in the error log and each entry there says "Unauthorized".

I have no idea of what to do next.
