This may be "hald" or something similar that is creating the USB
printer devices on-demand. Normally Linux distributors (and I'm
assuming you are using Linux - you didn't specify...) will make sure
this stuff works out of the box, but it appears that yours doesn't.
Contact your Linux distributor...
