Printer Settings Not Updating

I am using Fedora 10. If I go to System->Administration->Printing and change the settings specific to the printer and hit apply. Then go open a document, hit print click the advanced tab, the settings I changed earlier are not shown in the advanced tab.

This is happening with a printer of which I have a new raster file and ppd file for.

This problem does not happen with other types of printers.

What could I be doing wrong?
