[cups.bugs] [MOD] STR #3268: CUPS 1.4rc1: 'lpoptions -l' reports other defaults than in PPD

I did a cupsd restart but 'lpoptions -l' somehow insists
to report another default than what actually is in the PPD:

root at host# egrep '^\*DefaultPa|^\*DefaultImageableArea' \
           /etc/cups/ppd/hplaserjet1220ps.ppd
*DefaultPageSize: A4
*DefaultPageRegion: A4
*DefaultImageableArea: A4
*DefaultPaperDimension: A4

root at host# lpoptions -p hplaserjet1220ps -l | grep PageSize
PageSize/Media Size: *Letter ... A4 ...

user at host$ lpoptions -p hplaserjet1220ps -l | grep PageSize
PageSize/Media Size: *Letter ... A4 ...

I have no idea wherefrom 'lpoptions -l' gets this 'Letter'
default value:

root at host# find /etc/cups | xargs grep -l 'Letter'
/etc/cups/ppd/hplaserjet1220ps.ppd

root at host# find ~ | xargs grep -l 'Letter'
/root/.bash_history

user at host$ find ~ | xargs grep -l 'Letter'
/home/user/.bash_history
