[cups.general] Suspend and resume for active print jobs

Hello,

a user suspended his computer to disk while there was
an active printing job (in this particular case using
the socket backend for a network printer so that I assume
there were also filters running for this queue).

After he resumed his computer print job ist still displayed
as active but is seems the socket backend has hang up in a
busy loop.

My assumption is that such kind of disrupting an active
printing job is not supported at all with the current CUPS
(i.e. there can be any arbitrary result after the resume)
so that all the user can do is to wait until the print job
is sent to a remote queue or until locally active print jobs
are finished.

Is there any experience how suspend and resume should work
for active print jobs?

For more details you may have a look at

Kind Regards
