[cups.general] "Printer not connected; will retry in 30 seconds"

Have the Maplin CnMBook with CUPS v1.2 (Unix 1.2.11). Have "added" the HP
d2560 printer OK but CUPS appears to be saying "Printer not connected; will
retry in 30 seconds" in response to "Print Test Page". Cannot overcome this.


 

Have downloaded CUPS 1.4.1 (file cups-1.4.1-source.tar.gz) via the link you
sent but have no idea how to install this on to the Book. 

 

Is there specific documentation to assist me please?
