[cups.general] Finding real printers

When I go to <http://192.168.2.1:631/printers/> on my Fedora-11/KDE laptop,
I see all the printers I have ever used with this machine,
some of them now dead or in other countries.

Is there any way of listing printers
that actually exist and are available?

Incidentally, I also have an application
f=>Administration=>Printer Management Application
which comes from HP.
Probably not the right place to ask,
but this also has a long absent printer listed
which it seems to be impossible to remove.
