Printing from Win Mobile 5

My Ubuntu 9.04 machine is hooked to a USB hp LaserJet 3030.
It prints fine.

I have shared it, and Windows XP machines can print to it at
http://192.168.0.93:631/printers/hp-LaserJet-3030. No problems.

The problem is from my Symbol MC70 barcode scanner. The application
that runs on it allows for setting the IP:Port but no followint URI
information. In other words I can set:

192.168.0.93:631
BUT NOT
192.169.0.93:631/printers/hp-LaserJet-3030

When I try to print just to the abbreviated IP:Port I get this in
the error_log:

E [03/Apr/2010:23:47:27 -0800] Missing printer-uri, job-uri, or ppd-name attribute!
E [03/Apr/2010:23:47:27 -0800] Returning IPP client-error-bad-request for windows-ext (no URI) from 192.168.0.98
E [04/Apr/2010:00:00:15 -0800] Unable to encrypt connection from 192.168.0.86 - A record packet with illegal version was received.

It would appear that I need to configure my Cups so it can use the
shorter URI with no resource specified, or that I can redirect a request
to base port 631 to the longer URI.

I also thought of the APPSocket thing, but I am not sure this is
appropriate. It apparently can use a simple IP:PORT assignment.

Any ideas? Ramon. Nome, Alaska, USA
