Remote Cups Server and Java

Hi,
I have a cups 1.4.1 print server that is pushing it's printer list to 3 sun ray servers using:
BrowseAddress @IF(xnf0)
BrowseAddress srs1:631
BrowseAddress srs2:631
BrowseAddress srs3:631
The cups print server and the SUN Ray server have a router between them.
I'm able to print using FF/Thunderbird, OpenOffice and all the desktop apps without a problem.
I have one application that only sees the default printer. The application uses java.
If I create a local print queue on the SUN Ray servers, then the java app is able to see that local print queue.
I have test with java 1.6.12 and 1.6.20 and gotten the same results.
I realize that this might be a java bug. I'm wondering if there is a way to fix the cups configuration somehow so that I don't have to create local print queues on my Sun Ray servers?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
Karl
