cups suddenly stops printing after 5 years: Ghostscript 7.07.1: Unrecoverable error

Hi,
cups 1.1 (suse 9.2) was printing without problems in a big office for
about 5 years to hp1015, hp1022, hl5270, (and hp1505 since last year).
Suddenly cups denys printing:

I don't know whether the ghostscript error is the error why cups fails.

This is only one example trying to print to network printer hl5270. Most
printers are connected at clients with USB. The client of e.g. hp1022
claims: print_job: No file!?!

There are several ppd files for the printers. All printers and the whole
printing system is untouched sind several months/ years(!). The
dokuments are pdf, png, jpg scans or postscript, some years old or
recently scanned. The scanner and converting tools are about 5 years
old, too. We tried some dozen different documents, old and new ones.

Another Printer MFC 7820 prints fine. But its printing with a Brother
wrapper, not usind ghostscript:
