Linux Brother network printer from command line

Hi,

Ia have a Brother 5250Dn with network card, And I ahve configured this printer on a Linux System (Redhat 5), and I can print from gedit, openoffice, ...

this works but I need to print to a device like #cat file.txt > /dev/lp but the problema is this is a network printer and tehere isn't any device to do this, device-URI that appears is socket://ip:9100

How Can I do this? I have an application that need to receive the print file to a device ...
