Printer prints one job, then needs to be reconnected

I have this printer here, a Samsung ML-1630. When I bought it a year ago it worked perfectly fine, it's a very nice printer. I recently installed arch64 and now I have a rather annoying problem. I added the printer via cups like I always do, everything is fine. I print something, the printer does its job, alright. Then I want to print another document and nothing happens. Nada. Cups shows me the job is finished, but the printer just didn't do anything. Now when I disconnect the USB cable from the printer and reconnect it again, it will again print another document without complaint. And that's how it is, every time I want to print something I first have to dis- and reconnect the printer. What's wrong here?

What is even more disturbing is that my girlfriend can print however many documents she wants in a row - she has got an Ubuntu laptop which has access to the printer over the network because I shared it. So I assume it has something to do with how the job is given to the printer, but I have no clue how to debug this, help!

This is my error log after trying to print a job where the printer didn't do anything: http://pastebin.com/076fTHAA
