In addition you need to edit the file /usr/share/cups/charsets/utf-8 by
replacing the Monospace* names by FreeMono* names. Note that you only need
the .pfa files; if you copied them to the cups font directory including the
name extension, you need to keep the name extension when editing the utf-8
file.
