Make printer to use "number-up=2" per default

sorry, maybe my question was not so clear:
1) i have this already done for duplex.
2) i`m looking for the setting to print 2 pages on one sheet (number-up). such a setting is not in the ppd driver i installed and (therefore) that option also doesn`t appear in the CUPS gui interface of that printer.
