[cups.general] Problem when opening the canon capt status window

Hi,

I have installed the Canon LBP5000 in cups.
Since a few days, when I try to open the Canon capt status window, I always
get the following messages:

sam at XubuntuSam:~$ captstatusui -P LBP5000

*** captstatusui Socket Error ***

I already tried:

sam at XubuntuSam:~$ sudo apt-get install libxcb-event0

Something was installed but the problem didn’t dissapears.
I can also no longer print. (The cups server do not respond after sending a
printing task)

Can anybody help me?
Before a few days my cups server worked perfectly.
I need always this status window in order to click away a calibration error
message before I can continue to print.
